It’s taken four long years, but for Clear Creek senior Kyle Knaeble it was worth the wait.
Knaeble was awarded the Ski Meister award Feb. 17 after a grueling two days of state competition at Beaver Creek Ski Resort. In order to be named Ski Meister, athletes must compete in, and show mastery of, all four disciplines of competitive skiing — classic, giant slalom, skate and slalom during the regular season.
He is the first Ski Meister from Clear Creek since Amber Moran won the girls title in 2005 and the first boys winner since Ryan Cadenhead won in 2001.
