Diggers come close, but can’t topple Englewood

DENVER — Trevor Dziedzic went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, but Clear Creek dropped an 8-5 decision to Englewood on April 23 at Coors Field.
The loss was Clear Creek’s seventh straight.
Zak Ball and Richard Allen also had two hits, while Justin Bennetts scored twice for the Golddiggers (1-15, 0-7 3A Frontier League). Chris Clemmer and Ty Schmalz had Clear Creek’s other two hits.
Kenny Larson took the loss.
The Golddiggers, who played at The Academy on April 24, will host Sheridan in a doubleheader at CCHS on April 28.
First pitch is scheduled for 10 a.m. The second game will begin immediately after.
