An Idaho Springs resident was the victim of a hit-and-run accident during the evening of April 14.
Jason Hearn was discovered lying in the road near the 1200 block of Miner Street by a patrol officer. The driver fled the scene. Hearn, who sustained facial injuries, was released from the hospital after a day.
Police Chief Chris Malanka said Hearn had been riding his motorized bicycle home at about 11:30 p.m. after working at a restaurant in the historic district when the accident occurred.
