Middle school students learn about flirting versus hurting

Those awkward teenage years include a lot of “firsts”: first time driving a car, first time staying home alone, and the inevitable first crush. But how do young adults learn the boundaries between flirting and hurting?

More than 60 seventh-graders at Clear Creek Middle School had possibly their first, but certainly not their last, lesson in safe relationship behaviors recently. As part of the Youth Education and Safety in Schools program, sheriff’s patrol Deputy Paul Osckel gave the students some guidelines and food for thought as they enter the dating scene.
