Nancy “Nan, Nanners” Ann Wood, 64, entered Heaven on April 10, 2012.
She was born April 2, 1948, in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
Nancy was a casino manager and had lived in Colorado for more than 30 years.
She is survived by her mother, Marcelline Brake; her daughter, Marci Carrington; her granddaughter, Abby Miskolci; and countless friends.
Nancy loved laughing, camping, hiking, photography and trying new things — and don’t forget a damn good margarita now and then.
“My mother worked very hard all her life, providing herself and me with everything we needed and later my daughter, too,” said Marci Carrington. “She taught me life is what you make it and to always be strong. I love you, Mom.”
“Sometimes being a lot alike makes us stubborn,” said Abby Miskolci. “Yet you have given me the skills I need to succeed in life: independence, strength and ambition to strive above the rest. If I become half the woman you became, I’ll be blessed. It’s you, Grandma, who made me who I am today, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
“To my daughter, I’ll always love you,” said Marcelline Brake.
