Thanks for great pasta-dinner fund-raiser
Editor:
On Thursday, April 19, the Buffalo Restaurant & Bar hosted an all-you-can-eat pasta dinner fund-raising event for the GOALS Program (Get Outside And Learn Something).
Brett Hochmuth, a Clear Creek Middle School teacher, founded the GOALS program to get our kids outside and have a great time, learning about what life has to offer.
He is planning a three-day rafting trip for the elementary school kids and a five-day rafting trip for the middle-schoolers this summer.
Dan Ebert and the Buffalo Restaurant made it possible for the kids to fund-raise and make their rafting trips a reality. The Buffalo donated all the food for the pasta dinner. We cannot thank Dan and the Buffalo staff enough for their generosity.
The kids had a great time seating guests, bussing tables, refilling drinks, and taking good care of friends and family. It was a great opportunity for the kids to work together and begin the team-building skills that they will use on their rafting trip. The camaraderie that developed between the students, the Buffalo staff and the parents was wonderful to see.
Thank you to all who helped make the fund-raiser possible: Dan Ebert and the Buffalo staff; Michelle Yohn, who went above and beyond to make the pasta dinner a huge success; parents of the elementary students; Anne Johnstone, Tina Matthew, Heather Campbell and Cheryl Langevine who helped wherever needed; founder/executive director Brett Hochmuth; teachers Jessica Grigg and Britt Huey; and, of course, the students themselves, elementary students Daniel, George, Wesley, Abbey, Sara, Brooke, Tieler, Jaclyn, Payne, Arete, Maddie, Daphne, Deyon and Josh; and Clear Creek Middle School students Alex, Mike, Hailey, Noah, Mandy, Sarah, Brianna and Matt.
Thank you everyone for attending the pasta dinner and coming together as a community once again.
