Clear Creek senior Nate Kocol prepares to wrestle Elizabeth’s Kyle Prario in the opening round of the 3A state tournament on Feb. 19 at Denver’s Pepsi Center.
Kocol makes a strong showing at state tourney

DENVER — Nate Kocol, as described by Clear Creek assistant wrestling coach Kyle Gould, is a lot of things. He’s super mature. He’s a role model, especially for the younger kids. He’s a guy that coaches want to be a part of their program. He’s a Clear Creek guy.

The senior was all that and more during the winter sports season not only as a vital member of the boys basketball team, but also as the school’s lone state qualifier at the 3A state wrestling championships Feb. 19-21.
