  • Charles ‘Chuck’ Ivan Metz, 82

    Charles “Chuck” Ivan Metz, 82, of Evergreen died Jan. 30, 2012, at Exampla Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge.
    Chuck was born Nov. 14, 1929, in Butler County, Mo.
    He is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Carol Metz; brother Leonard Metz; sons Kirk Metz, Todd Metz and Bradley Metz; stepson Jerry Neal; grandchildren Rachel Metz, Tanner Metz, Dustin Metz and Kylee Metz; and great-grandchild Miley Metz.
    A memorial service will be held on May 5, 2012, in Evergreen, to celebrate Chuck’s life with family and friends.

  • Richard Gene Eckles

    Richard Gene Eckles was born April 12, 1930, to William and Mildred Eckles in Colorado Springs. He passed away Jan. 20, 2012, at the Life Care Center of Evergreen.

  • Sam Morreale

    Sam Morreale, native of Colorado and 13-year resident of Dumont, passed peacefully at his Denver home with his family at his side. Sam and his wife Cyndy were the creators and owners of Mangia! from 2004 to 2007, as well as Svago and Sam Whiskey’s Tavern, formerly located at the Indian Springs Hot Springs.

  • Everett Eugene Prickett Sr.

    Everett Eugene Prickett Sr. was born on Feb. 3, 1932, in Frankfort, Ind. He entered into rest on Dec. 30, 2011, in Lakewood. He was 79.
    Everett was a Victor, Colo., resident for 10 years and an Idaho Springs resident for 42 years. He was a husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

  • Betty T. Hall

    Betty Trexler was born on Oct. 12, 1920, in Lafayette, Ind., and passed away on Dec. 30, 2011. She attended Purdue University, where she was a member of the Phi Mu Sorority and where she met her husband, Bob Hall. They married in 1941 and shared their lives for more than 70 years.
    Betty and Bob had two children, and the family moved to Wyoming, Ohio, in 1947. There, Betty was active in the Junior Women’s Club and participated in several bridge clubs, among other activities.

  • Richard Edwin Hively

    Richard Hively was born on June 13, 1920, in Gallia County, Ohio, and died at his home in Arvada on Dec. 13, 2011. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Dorothy Brown Hively; and is survived by four stepchildren: Dorna Comstock (Carlos) and Furman Brown of Arvada, Brooke Nickerson (Darrell) of Centennial and Dierk Brown (Mary) of Idaho Springs; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. There are also kin in Ohio and supportive friends in the Arvada neighborhood.

  • Harold R. Wright

    Harold R. Wright, 88, of Gold Canyon, Ariz., died on Monday, Nov. 14, 2011, at his home after a long fight with cancer. He was surrounded by family and friends.
    Memorial services will be at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Gold Canyon on Feb. 11, 2012, at 1 p.m. Interment will be in the columbarium at the church.
    Memorial donations are suggested to the Mining Museum and Hall of Fame, P.O. Box 981, Leadville, CO 80461, in Harold’s name, where a bronze plaque will be placed in the Molybdenum Display in his honor.

  • R. Gary Buckley

    Robert Gary Buckley, 75, passed away on Nov. 2, 2011, in Henderson, Nev.
    Born on Aug. 5, 1936, in Silver Plume, Gary was preceded in death by his parents Robert E. Sr. and Donna M. Buckley and his 2-year-old daughter Denise. 

  • Richard ‘Rick’ Adams

    Richard “Rick” Adams was born Feb. 9, 1942, in Evanston, Ill., to Robert F. and Ruth Adams. 
    Most of his childhood was spent in Glen Ellyn, Ill., with summer breaks in Waupaca, Wis., at the family cabin that his father designed and built.  Most summers the family took trips to camping destinations throughout the United States. It was on one of those trips that he decided to one day live in Colorado. 

  • Jamie Jon Samuelson, 46

    Jamie Jon Samuelson died Sept. 25, 2011, at his home in Lakewood. He was 46.

    Jamie was born on Feb. 24, 1965, to Marion L. and Ann M. Lyons Samuelson in Glenwood Springs. He grew up in the Roaring Fork Valley and graduated from Roaring Fork High School in 1983.

    After high school, he attended a truck driving school, which started him on a 27-year career doing what he loved, driving and working on trucks. He married Cathleen Letey on June 12, 1997. They lived in Idaho Springs for 12 years before moving to Lakewood shortly before his death.
