Police have identified a body found near Fall River Road on June 7 as missing Lakewood resident David Noren.
Based on the autopsy results, a homicide investigation is under way.
The badly decomposed body was discovered by tourists off the side of the road near mile marker 6.
After the body was discovered, the Clear Creek County Sheriff's Office handed the investigation over to the Lakewood Police Department.

A nonprofit group has asked the county to designate separate outdoor areas for quiet recreational pursuits and noisier activities so that people can be assured of finding peace and quiet when they need them.   
Members of the countywide organization SOLVE, which promotes sustainable land-use practices, urged the county commissioners to designate separate areas for “quiet” recreation — such as fishing, hiking and cycling — and for activities that generate noise — such as target shooting and motorized vehicle use.

In a visit to Idaho Springs last week, Congressman Jared Polis said current improvements being made to Interstate 70 are temporary solutions to the weekend traffic congestion in the mountain corridor.
Polis, a Boulder Democrat who represents the sprawling 2nd District, said the Twin Tunnels expansion, as well as plans to add a peak-period shoulder lane, are important projects for addressing I-70 traffic snarls in the short term.

Camping may be permitted at the Idaho Springs baseball fields during the Clear Creek Rapid Grass Music Festival on July 5-6, which would set a precedent that could spread to other events in the city.
The Idaho Springs city council listened to a request on May 28 from the music festival organizers, who want permission for musicians and event attendees to camp on the fields.
The city currently prohibits outdoor sleeping and camping on public property except in specifically designated areas.
