The Alpine Rescue Team responded to three calls on July 30 nearly all at the same time — breaking a record for the volunteer organization.

Alpine Rescue spokeswoman Dawn Wilson said the three calls were at the rescue team’s busiest areas: Mount Evans, Mount Bierstadt and Torreys Peak.

“We have had two calls before, but three is odd,” Wilson said. “Not only was it three simultaneous missions going on, we had all three of our rescue vehicles at one of those spots — and also they were at the three most popular spots to respond to.”
