Wilderness rescue calls are down

The Clear Creek County Sheriff’s Office reports that, while it responded to more calls in 2016 than in 2015, it made fewer arrests last year than in 2015.

Overall, however, the county’s crime statistics were about the same in 2016 than in 2015.

According to statistics provided by the Sheriff’s Office, it handled 12,119 calls in 2015 and 12,863 in 2016. However, it filed about 120 fewer case reports in 2016.

The office arrested 898 adults and 15 juveniles in 2015; this past year, 789 adults and 12 juveniles.
