Clear Creek High School failed to qualify a wrestler for this week’s 2A state championships.

The Golddiggers placed last out of 15 schools at the 2A Region 3 tournament in Sterling on Friday and Saturday. CCHS finished with five points.

Clear Creek had four wrestlers in the competition — juniors Daniel Mathew (126 pounds) and George Gothman (195) and sophomores Dakota Wollet (132) and Deyon Wickham (220).

All four wrestlers went 0-2. Wickham placed fifth in his weight class. The top four wrestlers in each weight class qualified for state, which will be held Thursday through Saturday at Denver’s Pepsi Center.
