Parents will elect new school board members next month

By Deb Hurley Brobst

Parents at Georgetown Community School are optimistic after a meeting of its school board on Jan. 2 at which the board hired an interim principal and approved a timeline for board elections.

The school board hired Doug Hesbol, a veteran teacher, principal and administrator, to be its interim principal after principal Sharon Warren and business manager Marcia Ricke resigned from their positions effective Dec. 31. Warren didn’t respond to an e-mail from the Courant asking for her reasons for resigning.

Hesbol’s contract ends on June 30.
