The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is looking for two men accused of hitting a Clear Creek Sheriff’s deputy with their truck while the deputy tried to arrest them for shoplifting at the Evergreen Walmart.

Jeffco was dispatched to the Walmart, located off Swede Gulch Road near Interstate 70 in Evergreen, at 7:53 p.m. Dec. 27 after hearing that two men stole televisions from the store. According to Mike Taplin, spokesman with the Jeffco Sheriff’s Office, the Clear Creek Sheriff’s Office attempted to detain the men, but the suspects escaped, hitting one of the deputies with their white Ford Truck.

“(The deputy) was checked out by medical, but I don’t know of any injuries,” Taplin said.

The truck, however, appears to be damaged on the front bumper. The two men haven't been identified, and the Sheriff’s Office doesn't have any identifying information about them other than surveillance photos.

Those with information are asked to call 303-271-5612 and reference case 18-30441.
