Idaho Springs is seeing robust sales so far this year, with sales tax revenue 11 percent higher than this time last year.

Preliminary numbers show Idaho Springs collected $177,345 in July, and the city's total sale tax revenues for 2017 is $1.2 million or $125,302 more than in 2016.

Sales tax revenue is often used as an indicator to see how well local businesses are doing.

Idaho Springs Chamber of Commerce executive director Phyllis Adams said it’s clear the town has been busy based on the amount of traffic.
