The Clear Creek football team suffered a 47-3 Class 2A Colorado League loss last Friday at Diggers Stadium to the Kent Denver Sun Devils (4-1), who are currently ranked No. 8 in the state.

The Diggers (1-4) have dropped three straight since their 13-10 victory over Middle Park in Week Two.

Clear Creek led the Sun Devils, however, following Conner Gunderson’s 32-yard field goal in the first quarter. But the visitors from Cherry Hills Village answered with all-state running back Tyler Jackson, who rushed for 284 yards on 12 carries and scored five touchdowns.

The Diggers will look for their first league victory of the season this Friday when they visit the Sheridan Rams (1-4).
