Georgetown residents, it’s time to start decorating your homes for the holidays. The annual holiday decorating contest is commencing. There will first-, second- and third-place winners from each ward in Georgetown, plus lots of honorable mentions. Judges will be driving through your neighborhood on Dec. 10 after 6:30 p.m. Winners will be announced in the local newspaper, and certificates will be delivered to the winners. The 50th annual Georgetown Christmas Market will be from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 11 and 12 on Sixth Street. Enjoy the outdoor European marketplace, holiday entertainment, horse-drawn wagon rides, a Santa Lucia children’s procession and appearances by St. Nicholas.
