Nov. 3
ROCKY MOUNTAIN INVITATIONAL CHOIR CONCERT featuring seven high school choirs will be at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 3 in the Clear Creek High School gymnasium. Cost is $4 for adults, $3 for students and seniors, and free for children 6 and under.



Nov. 7
A pop concert featuring area musicians to benefit the repair of musical instruments in local churches will be at 2 p.m. Nov. 7  at First Presbyterian Church,  812 Taos St., Georgetown. For information call 303-745-7578.

Nov. 10
The final meeting for this session of the Clear Creek County Diabetes Support and Discussion Group will take place at the Project Support Senior Center in Idaho Springs on Nov. 10 at 9 a.m. This meeting is open to all county residents who have questions about or are interested in discussing diabetes and related issues. Come ask questions and get your voice heard regarding future diabetes support projects for Clear Creek County. Free screening, literature and gifts. There will be no  meeting on Nov. 3.

Nov. 11
Join VFW Post 4121 for a Veterans Day ceremony honoring past service men and women at 11 a.m.  Nov. 11 in Citizen’s Park. The ceremony will include an introduction from post commander Gene Eddy and speeches from veterans.

Nov. 13
A Veteran’s Day Dinner, Awards Presentation and fund-raiser will be held at 6 p.m. Nov. 13 at the Idaho Springs Elks Lodge, 1600 Colorado Blvd. The event is open to the public, and all veterans, law enforcement officers, firefighters and EMTs eat free. Donations from all others will be put into a scholarship fund to be awarded to local college-bound seniors and local veterans in deed of assistance.

Free Energy Expo on Nov. 13 in Idaho Springs. Learn about low-cost ways to save energy in your home and explore adding renewable sources of energy such as solar panels. Prepare for winter by learning how to cut your heating bills. The event will be at the old middle school building, 320 Chicago Creek Road from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

November 27
The John Denver Letter Day and Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held in Georgetown starting at 10 a.m. Nov. 27. Relive the holiday and community spirit inspired by John Denver’s “The Christmas Gift,” which was filmed in Georgetown in 1986. Through Dec. 10

Georgetown residents, it’s time to start decorating your homes for the holidays. The annual holiday decorating contest is commencing. There will first-, second- and third-place winners from each ward in Georgetown, plus lots of honorable mentions. Judges will be driving through your neighborhood on Dec. 10 after 6:30 p.m. so have your lights turned on. Winners will be announced in the local newspaper, and certificates will be delivered to the winners. Be a winner in the 2010 Georgetown Holiday Decorating Contest and help us light up Georgetown.
