Clear Creek School District employees will get a 3.5% pay raise for the 2021-22 school year.
That means a teacher with a bachelor’s degree and no experience will make $38,709.
The salary increase plus the step increases on the salary schedule are part of the contract with the Clear Creek County Education Association that the school board approved on June 15.
The school district has been able to increase salaries since the 2016-17 school year, when a teacher with a bachelor’s degree and no experience had a starting salary of $32,000. In the 2018-19 school year, teacher base pay increased $2,000, and other employees received 6.25% raises.
In the 2019-20 school year, staff received either a $3,400 increase to their base salary or an 8 percent base-salary increase, whichever was greater, and the base salary for a new teacher moved to $37,400. Staff received step increases only without an increase to the base pay in the 2020-21 school year.
The contract also added language about how negotiations will be handled, created a subcommittee to redesign how personal time off will be paid out when an employee leaves the district, created another step on the salary schedule for someone with a master’s degree plus 75 credit hours and provides a stipend for teachers who receive National Teacher Board certification.
